It's been a while!
The kittens are big 1-year-old cats now (Sammy tips the scales at a whopping 14.5lbs, while Max is an athletic 9lbs.)
I'm going to try to resume posting, at least for the next couple of weeks as Mike and I are on vacation. We could call this a belated honeymoon (not that bumming around Chicago for a week doing touristy things was insufficient) because we are finally taking our long-planned Route 66 road trip! Or at least a portion of it...
While we aren't going to drive the whole length from Chicago to LA, we will be driving a southwestern portion of the road from Oklahoma City, OK, to Albuquerque, NM.
Our itinerary so far: we took the bus from Chicago to St. Louis last night.
Next up: driving to Wichita, KS today, and enjoying Mike's cousin's wedding this weekend.
Beyond: Oklahoma City; Clinton, OK; Amarillo, TX; Tucumcari, NM; Albuquerque; Santa Fe, NM; Mesa Verde, CO; the Grand Canyon, AZ; and finally back via Albuquerque to Oklahoma City for my brother's wedding! (And probably many points in between as we stop at all the ridiculous Route 66 tourist attractions we can find along the way.)
